Why Solar PV Systems?

Solar power is one of the world’s fastest growing sources of renewable energy and we ensure your solar panels are installed to the highest standards. You can use Solar Panels to generate green electricity from sunlight. Nearly a million homes across the country already benefit from clean, affordable solar power.

Solar Photovoltaic (Solar PV) modules absorb and convert sunlight into electricity and they don’t need direct sunlight to work – they can still generate some electricity on a cloudy day.

Solar PV modules are supplied as a sealed unit with a specific voltage and wattage rating. In order to provide electricity for a building Solar PV modules have to be combined in a system with other components (including an inverter, wiring and roof mounting kit).

Our customers are increasingly choosing to complement their Solar installation with a battery storage solution, improving self-sufficiency by capturing surplus electricity and saving it, so it can be used later.

We will design a bespoke system to fit your property and make the most of the access to sunlight specific to your property and its location.

How It Works...

1. Personalised Quote

Once you express an interest, we will get in touch to book a survey to help you decide the best solar options for you and give you a personalised quote. The survey can be carried out in your home, over the phone or online.

2. Booking Installation

If you agree to go ahead with the quote, we’ll then get in contact to arrange installation and tell you the next steps (including when the scaffolding will be put up).

3. Scaffolding Set up

We can let you know once we know the size of the system you need. We’ll put your scaffolding up a few days before your solar installation and take it down a few days after and we’ll always make sure we leave your property clean and tidy.

4. Installation Of Solar Panels

Once the scaffolding has been put up, giving our our installers safe access to your roof, the install mounts – which the solar panels will be attached to – are fitted and attached to the rafters. Most installations are completed within a day but some larger jobs will take a little longer.

5. Wiring Into Your Property

When the solar panels have been secured to the frame and wired in, the inverter is installed and connected to the battery (if chosen) and the grid input. The inverter is what transforms energy from the solar panels into electricity your home can use.

6. Completion Of Work

Once your solar panel installation is complete, the whole system is connected to a consumer unit, usually adjacent to your existing fuse box. We will ensure all the cabling is neatly fitted with a black or white conduit to suit your home.

Maintaining a Solar PV system

Solar PV systems are low maintenance – you just need to keep the panels relatively clean and make sure trees don’t create too much shade.

Following installation we will leave written details of any maintenance checks that you should carry out from time to time to ensure everything is working properly, including details of the main inverter fault signals and key trouble-shooting guidance.
