Supporting Solar Aid
What is SolarAid?
Matthew and Katharine Kemp, founders of Leaping Hare Renewables are passionate about supporting Solar Aid. By contributing 1% of profits and offering customers an option to donate on all invoices they hope to provide ongoing support for the positive, sustainable and empowering work of Solar Aid.
The importance of SolarAid
Nearly 600 million people in sub-Saharan Africa live without access to electricity. The second the sun goes down, the day ends.
For a little bit of light in the evening, the only option is to ignite kerosene lamps and paraffin candles, which emit toxic fumes into people’s lungs and into the earth’s atmosphere.
SolarAid has a simple solution, bringing clean, safe solar light and power to every home, school and health facility in the remotest communities no one else is reaching.
Want to get involved?
- £15 could help SolarAid to distribute one solar light reaching 5 people and replacing dangerous toxic sources of light.
- £50 could provide spare parts to a repair technician so that they can give a second life to a broken solar light
- £135 could provide a bike to help a solar agent bring clean safe solar light to the remotest communities
